The basics

What is Private Fieldy?

Private Fieldy is an app for the Fieldy 3 pendant. The pendant records; the app transcribes the conversation, writes a summary and suggests tasks, using the phone itself and an AI server you control.

It is made by AI Eh By Solutions, an independent developer. It is not made by or affiliated with Fieldy.

Can I use it today?

Private Fieldy is in private preview. The Android app and the macOS desktop app are being tested; nothing is in an app store yet. Store links will appear on the Download page once the apps are listed.

Which pendant does it work with?

The Fieldy 3. Without a pendant, the Android app records with the phone's microphone, and the desktop app records your computer's microphone and audio.

Is there an iPhone app?

Not yet. An iPhone app is planned; it is not being built yet.

Privacy

Where do my recordings go?

They stay on your phone (or computer). The live transcript is made on the phone. For the best quality, the recording is sent to the AI server you set up (for example a computer at home) for transcription and notes.

With Always On, the phone first checks each conversation on its own: ones that are not worth notes (TV, background chatter) are kept on the phone, marked Skipped, and never sent.

Nothing goes to a cloud service unless you choose one: you can also pick OpenAI, Deepgram or another provider with your own key, or turn on the optional sync.

Do I need an account?

No. Recording, transcripts, notes, tasks and Ask work without one. An account is only needed for the optional sync between devices and for share links.

Does the official Fieldy app or cloud see my conversations?

No. Private Fieldy talks to the pendant directly over Bluetooth. The only time it contacts Fieldy is when you choose to download a firmware update with your own Fieldy account, and no recordings or notes are sent then.

What happens if my AI server is off?

The app finishes on the phone (live transcript and on-device notes) and marks the conversation "Upgrade pending". When the server answers again, it redoes the transcript and notes there and replaces the phone version.

Using it

What is "My AI server"?

Any computer you control that offers OpenAI-compatible speech-to-text and chat endpoints (for example Whisper and an open model). You enter its address and key in Settings → AI providers. A server you can reach away from home can be added as a second address.

Can it tell who is speaking?

When your speech-to-text server labels speakers, the transcript shows Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, and you can name them. Automatic voice recognition from voice samples is experimental.

Can I export my notes?

Yes: share or copy a conversation as text, and the desktop app exports text, Markdown, PDF and JSON. The Android app also makes a daily backup.

Does it work with Claude?

A read-only Claude connector is built and being tested; it is not live yet. When it is, you add https://fieldy-mcp.ai-eh-by.ca/mcp in Claude as a custom connector and sign in.
